EASY Road Project

As I have been setting up the playroom, I noticed that John lined up a bunch of his cars on the top of the bookshelves. So, I pulled out some vinyl and cut some quick roads and stripes. He said he wanted a curvy road, so his wish was my command!

Are they perfect and professional looking? Not really. But it does the trick and is removable, so it works for me! John and Matthew use it often for their cars...and for building towers apparently.

Sidenote: How in the world have we acquired sooooo many cars/trucks/planes??? Is it just me, or do they multiply when I am not looking? This bucket is filled to the brim and we have tons more in the shelves!

Playroom Freebies

We have been working on the boys' playroom over the past week or so. This room is quite large (walls are 155 inches long!) so the boys love playing in there. The room isn't totally finished yet, so I am going to wait to share the whole thing. But, in the meantime I wanted to share a freebie that I made for the room.

You have probably seen these types of sign around Pinterest or Etsy. I just whipped these up using Photoshop, printed them on regular paper, and framed them with extra frames we had from the old house. Very easy and cheap! So, I wanted to share them with you- feel free to save and use (but please don't sell them!).

Here is what they look like in the playroom:

I can't wait for the room to be finished and share the rest of it with you!

Documents of Lost Teeth

Well, John John had a little accident about two weeks ago which ended up breaking on of his front bottom teeth at the root. He says he ran into Matthew's back, but that seems odd for that to cause him to break a tooth so badly! Either way, my sweet baby had to be sedated last week and they pulled out his little ol' baby tooth (which had the root in four different pieces!). I didn't anticipate having the Tooth Fairy come to our house so early, but she did manage to bring him a Francesco car as a present. I didn't get a chance to get super creative (ie look on Pinterest for cute ideas) so I will have to do better in a couple years. :)

However, I saw on someone's blog (which I can't find now...sorry!!) they made a little journal to document the teeth that were lost. She even linked to someone who made little drawings of teeth but, like I said, I can't find it. UGH! Anyways, here is the quick journal I put together for John. It isn't fancy so maybe I will spice it up a bit in the next couple years.

Surfer Dude Party Invitation & Inspiration

Matty B is turning TWO at the end of the month! I feel like I was just sharing his 1st birthday pirate party! I decided that I would do a Surfer Dude theme for his birthday and I am so excited! This is the invitation I made for the party (available in my Etsy Shop!).

I really like how it turned out, although my sister pointed out it isn't very juvenile. However, I have never liked anything too 'kid-ish' so I am happy with it.

So now that I am browsing Pinterest for ideas for the party, I thought I would share some of my favorite links. A little wrap-up, if you will. So, here are my favs...

I love the 'Surf Shack' from The Homespun Hostess' party! I already have a couple items to do this at my party.

Kara's Party Ideas shared this adorable Retro Surf Birthday from I Love Parties Australia. Although there are too many cute ideas to list, I loved the cupcakes and the toddler games!

Ummm...how cute is this boy dress-up station from Casamenteiras??? Even though the blog is in Portuguese, I loved all the cute details of the party.

Cheryl from Creative Party Ideas by Cheryl found these cute beers...for the adults of course!

Style Me Gorgeous had a cute slip and slide with a small 'surfboard'. I bought a slip and slide for the party so maybe I need to find some surfboards to go with it!

Love, love, LOVE the food set up that Nicole did via Hostess With The Mostess! The surfboard is super cute, I love the burgers individually wrapped, and the fries in small cups are just precious! Wonder if I could pull this off...

So, I have my work cut out for me! Good thing I have three weeks to prepare. :)
