Mother's Day Card

Now that we celebrated Mother's Day with both moms, I can write about the cards John made for all the moms in the family! I laid out some paper and had John use a bottle scrub brush to dip into paint and the splatter onto the paper. He had a ton of fun doing this and it made some pretty art work! Once John went to bed, I cut the painted paper into strips.

Brad glued the strips onto a sheet of folded paper to complete the cards.

So easy and very unique for Mother's Day!

Lasty, here is my most recent attempt at photoshop. My sisters and I are taking my mom for a day out of pampering for her Mother's Day Gift so this is what we gave her today. I am excited to spend the day with the girls!

Teacher Appreciation Day 2

Today was our day to give something for 'pampering' the teachers at John's daycare. Personally, I would much rather be pampered with yummy candy then a random bottle of lotion. I mean, how many bottles of lotion does a lady really need? Plus, it helped that I had left over candy from the craft show available and no bottles of lotion on hand!

I made this on photoshop. Don't judge- I just learned how to use the program last week so I am still figuring it out!

My original thought was to print them on card stock and make little plastic bag toppers. But when I got to work (yes I made them at work today!) I found these little favor boxes left over from a bridal shower that I threw and glued the picture on the front and filled the boxes with candy. I thought they needed a little something extra, but being that I was at school, all I could find was some yellow crepe paper. I cut some strips, tied them to the box, and crinkeled them up to make them look a little festive.

So, this turned out to be one of those projects that looked better in my head than how it actually turned out. The teachers seemed to like them though and probably needed some sugar at the end of the day!

Featured Again?! What?!?!

I was checking my google reader yesteday and saw that my I {heart} Mom shirt was featured on another fun blog! This just made my day! And even though no one bought this shirt at the craft fair, I am secretly happy b/c I am going to have John wear it instead!

Go see her blog, Delicious Ambiguity, when you get a chance!

Teacher Appreciation Gift

This week is Teacher Appreciation and at the daycare, we have a little list of gifts for each day. This year I am not doing as much as I did last year mainly because John John switched classes this week and I don't know his new teachers at all and then I feel bad leaving out his old teachers. So, I decided just to give gifts for two or three of the days to both sets of teachers (that is SEVEN teachers!) and not every day. But I digress. Since today was simply writing a note of thanks (easy!), I decided to share one of the gifts I gave last year when we were supposed to bring flowers to the teacher.

I got the tins in the dollar section of Target, and even though this is from last year, I saw something similar at the store just the other day. Then we just got some flowers at Walmart and planted them with notes attached to BBQ skewers. The note said 'Teachers are the sunshine, Students are the flowers, Sunshine helps the flower grow!'. I saw that online somewhere so I totally stole it! :)

Check back tomorrow for the next gift!
