Five Years of Married Bliss!!

Today is my FIVE YEAR anniversary! Can you believe it?! It feels like just yesterday I was getting ready to marry my best friend...and was so nervous about the big day that I couldn't even eat at my own wedding. :)

Dear Brad,

Happy Anniversary, Poop Poop! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband, loving father to my children, and a hilarious best friend. I look around me every day and think about how happy I am and how lucky I am to have you in my life. I can count on you for anything and everything. You make me laugh every day, you take care of me, love me unconditionally, support me, listen to me, let me bother you when you are trying to sleep, and laugh at me when I am acting silly. I love being around you and I love spending time together with you and the boys as a sweet little family. The longer we are married, the more excited I am about what our future holds. (hey- that is a direct proportion! haha!) I love you more than anything, am so proud of you and your accomplishments, and look forward to the next 105 years together. (and I am looking forward to our anniversary trip too!!)

Easy Food Labels

About a month or two ago, I saw these plant stakes at Target in their Dollar Spot. Don't we all just love the Dollar Spot?!



I actually was looking around for stuff for John's tot school and these caught my eye because we were doing a gardening unit. However, I decided I could use these for when I have parties and want to label the food on the table. I have been been able to find any nice and reusable labels so I figured for a buck, I could see how this turned out.

So, I took the stakes, bent the wires backwards, used an overhead marker to write a food dish, and voila...a food label for my most recent NY themed party!



So, I kind of threw this party together last minute (as in printing stuff 30 minutes before my family showed up!) so the labels are pretty basic. However, I am sure with some craftiness, they could be SO cute! I think some ribbon will spruce them up for the next party I throw. All in all, not bad at 20 cents each!

Baby Shower {sneak peek}

My baby sister is having a baby in September. My other sister and I are of course throwing her a fabulous shower! (aren't I modest?!) We figured that this is the last shower we will throw for a sister...until our kids have babies...which won't be a LONG time from now! So, we want to go out with a bang.

So here is a sneak peek of what we are working on.



Obviously we are doing a book themed shower. I made the library check out cards on photoshop and then we put card pockets on cardstock. I also made bookplates to go in the pocket so guest can personalize books for the mommy-to-be. I love love LOVE how they turned out!










So, are you just dying to see what else we came up with? I thought so! I will keep you posted!

Nature Scavenger Hunt

During our 'Garden' week for tot school last week, my favorite activity was taking a Nature Scavenger Hunt walk by the lake. This was supposed to be part of our 'Toddler Art Tuesdays' with my sister and her daughters, but we forgot to take the art stuff with us. Oh well...maybe next time!

I whipped up a scavenger hunt sheet the night before our walk. I was too lazy to type up the words for each picture, but I think the kids survived anyway. I put the sheets in a page protector and stapled some dot stickers to the protector. As the kiddos found an item, they could put a sticker over that picture. (you can save this jpg if you want to use this too!)



About halfway through our walk, John and Bella lost interest in the scavenger hunt. They lasted longer than I thought! We walked a very short distance, but it took FOREVER with two toddlers! John likes to stop to pick up a pebble every five seconds and then wants to run back and forth over the bridge twenty times. I think we walked about 1/2 a mile total and it took us about 45 minutes. Those two kids were just taking in all the nature they could handle, I guess! :)
